Thesis Project - Update #5

Before Class

Over the weekend, I found an article that updated on the existing micro-housing within Hong Kong. Hong Kong proposed a vacancy tax on any empty new apartment units. The tax would cost 200% more than the unit's value. Owners were quick to their feet to sell the homes immediately to avoid the payment. Microhouisng was an idea bought to Hong Kong in response to the housing crisis. Houses were made in concrete pipes and within new apartment units. However, real estate experts say that people prefer a home of about 600-700 sq ft. If micro-housing is becoming hard to sell, would be other alternatives?

Pricey Hong Kong set to impose vacancy tax on empty new flats

Microapartments are dying in one of the world's most expensive cities, and it could be part of a troubling trend for owners

After Class

By Friday, we have to create our blog, paste it on the Miro Board, select our advisor from our three professors, list readers (consultants), and begin working on the site documentation. We need to have the abstract posted onto our blog, base map, and list of unique site analysis topics we would be searching for later.
